Conference Paper Description

The weight loss, polarization and electrochemical impedance techniques has been experimented for the compound 3,4-dihydro-2-(methoxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-b]indole (DMPI) and studied the corrosion inhibition effect of mild steel in acidic medium. The organic compound was identified as good inhibitor from the results obtained. The Potentiodynamic polarization showed that DMPI was a mixed type inhibitor in acid media. The DMPI adsorption was studied in the range of 303-343K temperature. Adsorption of inhibitor onto mild steel surface in both acids obeys the Langmuir and Temkin absorption isotherm.
