In an ever-evolving world, the replacement of conventional technologies by newer modalities is a great hope for the betterment of the human population. Science and technology have been in continuous struggle to bring greater innovations to fulfill the unmet needs of the universe as a whole. The strive for better innovations in all field where man could exercise the potential of his brain is a must in order to face the challenges in the development and upliftment of the human race in this planet. One such achievement which has popped up in the recent decades is the widespread application of the nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has literally been able to have a profound impact in almost all the versatile domains of our life in a very short period of time which in itself is an absolute proof of its unmatchable importance. If this is so, that day is not too far when one could find an essence of nanotechnological science in each and every product that one uses, in one way or the other. Nanotechnology has been in use in various sectors like agriculture, automobile, food, cosmetics, energy and one of the most widely influenced arena in this respect being the field of medical science. In this review article, the nanotechnical applications in the field of medicine are reviewed taking into considerations the various dimensions of the same. An integrated approach has been put forward all throughout in this review article to enhance the comfort of the reader so as that they could get an overall and comprehensive idea of the importance of nanotechnology in the enrichment of medical science.
