Article Description

This paper reviews the emergence of integrability in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence at an introductory level. In particular, we discuss how planar supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and free string theory on AdS × S can both be related to integrable systems in one spatial dimension. We determine the spectrum of the model in the limit of long operators/strings. © 2009 IOP Publishing Ltd.
