Article Description

R-prime derivatives of plasmid pJB3JI were constructed by conjugal mobilization of Tn5 or Tn5-Mob induced mutations from Azotobacter vinelandii to Escherichia coli. In A. vinelandii R-prime formation is mediated by the transposable element IS21. R-primes resulting from conjugal mobilization of chromosome Tn5-Mob insertions are very useful for in vivo cloning of markers near the transposon insertion. © 1991.
