Conference Paper Description

With the communications network popularizes the public, the increasing number of users puts a heavy burden on the communication network. The traditional low-frequency band and access network cannot meet the needs of large capacity communication. Therefore, a new technology is needed to meet the requirements of the next generation access network. The integrated Radio over Fiber (RoF) and Passive Optical Network (PON) transmission system combines the high speed and low-cost advantages. In this paper, we construct optical wireless transmitting and receiving devices based on PON network to meet the needs of large capacity communication. The integration of wired and wireless access is realized and the flexibility of the access mode is improved effectively. As well, the optical carrier suppressed (OCS) modulation technology is applicated to establish a bidirectional transmission system based on RoF and PON. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system is effective and reliable.
