Article Description
This study was conducted to determine the comparative effects of SAS and SAP supplementation into diets of commercial laying hens on intestinal villus height, intestinal microflora, egg quality indices and performance. Soft Acid S (SAS) includes 60% formic acid, 20% propionic acid and 20% soft acid and Soft Acid P (SAP) consist of 70% propionic acid, 5% citric acid and 25% soft acid. The experiment was carried out with 108 Lohmann Brown Commercial hens, 45 weeks old, allocated to 3 groups of 12 replications, each containing 3 hens. The treatment groups employed were: 1) Control (Basal = B); 2) B + 2.5 kg SAS per ton feed; 3) B + 2.5 kg SAP per ton feed. Feed intake (FI), egg production (EP), egg weight (EW) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) did not differ significantly between groups (p > 0.05). Dietary organic acid (OA) supplementation did not significantly affect egg quality indices except for yolk color. Total bacteria and yeast-fungi counts in gastrointestinal tract also were not different among groups. In addition, SAP and SAS had no significant effect on Serum Red Blood Cells (SRBC) (p > 0.05). In SAS (753 μm) and SAP (729 μm) groups small intestinal villi were significantly higher than in control group (573 μm) (P < 0.05). In conclusion, the current study showed that SAS and SAP had no significant effect on performance, egg quality criteria (except yolk color), intestinal bacteria, intestinal yeast-fungi and SRBC, but increased small intestinal villus height. In further studies the effect of different levels of these OAs in diets should be investigated. Einfluss organischer Futtersäuren auf Leistung, Eiqualität, Darmmikroflora und Villushöhe im Dünndarm bei Legehennen In der vorliegenden Vergleichsstudie wurde der Einfluss des Zusatzes von zwei Organische Säure Präparaten (SAS – 60% Ameisensäure, 20% Propionsäure, 20% weiche Säuren, SAP – 70% Propionsäure, 5% Zitronensäure, 25% weiche Säuren) zum Futter auf die Villushöhe der Dünndarmschleimhaut, die Zusammensetzung der Darmmikroflora, die Merkmale der Eiqualität und der Leistung der Legehennen untersucht. Hierzu wurden 108 kommerzielle, etwa 45 Wochen alte, Lohmann Brown Legehennen verwendet, die auf 3 Behandlungsgruppen mit je 12 Wiederholungen a 3 Legehennen verteilt wurden. Folgende Behandlungen kamen zum Einsatz: 1) Grundration (B), 2) Grundration + 2,5 kg SAS/t Futter, 3) Grundration + 2,5 kg SAP/t Futter. Es konnten keine signifikanten Unterschiede für die Futteraufnahme (FI), die Legeleistung (EP), das Eigewicht (EW) und die Futterverwertung (FCR) zwischen den Behandlungsgruppen beobachtet werden. Der Zusatz der organischen Säuren zum Futter beeinflusste keines der Eiqualitätsmerkmale, außer der Dotterfarbe. In ähnlicher Weise lagen zwischen den Behandlungsgruppen keine Unterschiede für die Gesamtzahlen an Bakterien und Hefen/Pilzen im Verdauungstrakt vor. Sowohl SAS als auch SAP wirkten sich nicht auf die Erythryozytenzahlen im Blutserum aus (SRBS). Im Gegensatz zur Kontrolle (572 μm) war die Villushöhe im Dünndarm bei den Behandlungen SAS (753 μm) und SAP (729 μm) signifikant höher (P < 0,05). Es wurde der Schluss gezogen, dass zu einem besseren Verständnis der Wirkungen von SAS und SAP auf die Leistung, die Zusammensetzung der Darmmikroflora und die Villushöhe der Dünndarmschleimhaut bei Legehennen, die Zusätze in unterschiedlicher Zulagenhöhe untersucht werden sollten.
