Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
The issues of calculating CO2 emissions from coal combustion at thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine are considered. In the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recommendations, the calculations must be based on State Statistics Service data and use three factors: coal loss, specific carbon content per net calorific value in coal, and degree of carbon burnout. The error in such calculations reaches 20%. A method was developed to calculate CO2 emissions based on averaged coal composition per mine data and annual TPP reports on the amount and rate of carbon burnout of used coal, with an error of less than 1.8% for bituminous coal and 2.5% for anthracite. CO2 emissions calculations for 1990-2020 were carried out. It was found that for anthracite the specific carbon content was higher and the burnout rate was less than for bituminous coal, while for both types of coal the specific carbon content decreased and the burnout rate increased with an increase in net calorific value. This allowed us to simplify the method using a single factor-the effective specific carbon emission-for both types of coal. The results showed that the CO2 emissions at TPPs in Ukraine in 2020 decreased to 30% of the 1990 level, and a further reduction in coal energy was associated with the risk of a lack of regulatory capacities in the face of an increase in the share of green energy generated.
