Article Description

In this article, a graphene-based sample with two semi-infinite channels, which is subjected to bias voltage as well as vertical light irradiation, has been studied. Assuming that due to the presence of the gate voltage, a tunable Rashba-type spin-orbit coupling is also present where the quantum transport in the system has been investigated using the tight-binding method and the non-equilibrium Green's function approach. According to the results, we can see that by adjusting the Rashba coupling strength, one can manipulate the spin current. Also, it has been realized that spin polarization strongly depends on the incident light polarization.
