Article Description

Haemorrhage is the most serious complication associated with abdominal myomectomy, which should be taken into consideration to decrease morbidity and mortality. There are several modalities to decrease blood loss, including intra-myometrial injections of vasopressin. However, it does have some side effects and can occasionally result in very severe complications like bradycardia, hypotension, arrhythmias, pulmonary edema, and cardiac arrest. We herein present a case report of sudden severe bradycardia and hypotension induced by intra-myometrial injection of low-dose diluted vasopressin.
