Article Description
Resumen: El objetivo de este artículo es analizar, con datos de encuestas a legisladores en 16 países de América Latina, los determinantes de las evaluaciones de dos líderes políticos, Lula da Silva y Dilma Rousseff, teniendo en cuenta variables explicativas relacionadas con los atributos sociodemográficos y, sobre todo, con la ideología de los legisladores. Los resultados de las regresiones logísticas muestran que el principal determinante es la valoración de la Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América (ALBA) y su efecto se reforzó durante la presidencia de Rousseff. Esto se debe a la caída en las evaluaciones positivas en el campo de la derecha, que tenía mejor opinión de Lula. Este texto aporta evidencia empírica de que cuando se trata de evaluar a presidentes latinoamericanos, importa más la ideología que las medidas que estos implementen en sus países. Este hallazgo contribuye a entender mejor por qué algunos liderazgos, como el de da Silva, son ideológicamente transversales.
