Review Description

Background: The study is carried out for comparing the efficacy of Nalbuphine with Tramadol as a postoperative analgesic. Tramadol is used for moderate analgesia and it is a weak opioid, Nalbuphine, a new opioid which has antagonistic action at μ receptors and agonistic action at κ receptor. Methodology: In this study, sixty patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries will be allocated into 2 groups of 30 each – group N and group T. Group N will be given Inj. Nalbuphine 0.1mg/kg IV Group T will be given Inj. Tramadol 1mg/kg IV We then compared the post-operative analgesia in both the groups along with the sedation score and side effects. Results: we hypothesize that nalbuphine is better than tramadol for postoperative analgesia Conclusion: When the result will come as expected then we came to a conclusion that nalbuphine is better than tramadol for post-operative analgesia and also nalbuphine causes less side effects when compared to tramadol when given intravenously.
