Article Description

Strategic planning is part of the strategic process that today is carried out in most public or private organizations, it is the action of proposing an objective and the path to follow to achieve it; this process includes at least 3 stages: Formulation, Implementation and Evaluation; the stage in which the Strategic Planning is developed is the Formulation, this stage is determinant, since it is about shaping what is going to be implemented; and it is this point in which almost all public administration entities fail, without a clear idea of what is to be achieved to begin with, it is little logical to think that the proposed objective will be reached. The objective of the research is to determine the impact of Strategic Planning in Public Administration reported in relevant empirical research. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) identified 48310 studies from digital libraries such as Web of Science, Scopus, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, Taylor & Francis Online and EBSCOhost, of which 60 were selected, these helped to answer the 4 research questions posed. The SLR has resulted in a trend in research on strategic planning and its effect on public administration. The present research contributes to understanding the differences and similarities of the studies considered, and it is suggested to consider a greater number of studies that include a wider range of years.
