Article Description
IBased on an analysis of thematic categorical content and based on Girardet's typology of political myths (1987), this article investigated the presence of political myths in 134 rumors disproved by the Comprova Project during the 2018 Brazilian presidential election campaign. The results indicated the presence of elements of political mythology in two out of three examined rumors, prevalence of the Plot type, recurrence of rumors with conspiracy themes and a context mostly favorable to the campaign of candidate Jair Bolsonaro.
