Article Description
This article proposes to explore how paramilitary groups impacted and transformed the property rights in the Colombian countryside. The text is confined to the period 1982-2007, which corresponds to the formal existence of such groups. The article not intend to make a systematic empirical analysis, but rather to present and develop some basic concepts of relevance to interpreting the agrarian transformations that Colombia has suffered in the armed conflict.
