With regards to human rights, we have a variety of definitions, but basically we understand them by the respect for the individual, the assumption that each person is a moral and rational being who deserves to be treated with dignity. A connection between both terms can be established when the servant-leadership approach tries to enrich the lives of individuals and to create more just and caring world, just as the human rights philosophy which aims to empower every single human being and to build a fairer and more equal society at a global level.
