Dataset Description

Water jet assisted laser machining is an advanced and eco-friendly technique suitable for efficient and precise processing of wood and wooden part. In the paper entitled “Experimental and Theoretical Modeling of Nanosecond Water Jet Guided Laser Machining for Different Wood Specimens, ”the investigation takes into account the process analysis and practical application of laminated object manufacturing (LOM) nanosecond water-jet guided laser (NWJGL) for machining different wood types. The workpiece includes Korean pine and Northeast China ash wood of 3 mm thickness with a water content of 7.21 % and 7.13 % each, machined under different laser power and cutting speeds. These process parameters and influences on woodcut surface geometry were experimentally analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Analysis Of Variance (NOVA). Via the Origin software, the experiment and parameters interaction and influence on the workpiece are reported.
