Abstract: Philosophy of history includes speculative or substantive philosophy of history and critical or analytical philosophy of history. The term speculative philosophy of history refers to a series of past events as a special reality that is of interest to historians for research. Thoughts of R.G. Collingwood’s philosophy of history cannot be separated from his understanding of philosophy. He stated that philosophy is an effort of reflection. Philosophical thinking does not simply mean thinking about an object, but more than that, when someone thinks about an object, he is simultaneously thinking about his own thoughts about that object. Thinking in relation to objects is not just thinking, but is knowledge.
